Why this matters
Strengthen connection through attentive listening, honest repair, prayer, shared responsibility, and appropriate professional support when needed.
Biblical foundation
Read Ephesians 4:2–3 slowly. Notice what it reveals about God, human dignity, and a faithful response.
Practice it
Set aside twenty uninterrupted minutes. Each person names one concern and one hope while the other reflects back before responding.
What to watch for
If there is coercion, abuse, or danger, joint exercises are not appropriate; prioritize safety and qualified local support.
A focused first step
Rebuilding Connection: Separate facts, feelings, responsibility, and requests; make repair concrete; and allow trust to be rebuilt through consistent, observable choices. Use a three-column note for what is working, what remains difficult, and the smallest useful adjustment. At the next family check-in, keep what helped and replace one step that created unnecessary pressure.
Reflect together
What would help the other person feel heard, respected, and safe this week?
